WITH SPECIAL GUESTS, MEDIA COVERAGE, AND A SPECTACULAR AWARDS CEREMONY FEATURING TRADITIONAL DANCERS, THIS EVENT TRULY HIGHLIGHTED THE SPIRIT OF YOUTH SPORTS. Tournament Highlights: A Celebration of Young Talent!

From October 25th to 27th, the much-anticipated tournament brought together a vibrant crowd of young athletes at the Hilton Hotel, where boys' and girls' competitions unfolded on multiple courts. The excitement was contagious, leading to an impressive number of participants that prompted organizers to expand the event across three locations!

Media coverage was in full swing, with outlets like Nahoo and ETV capturing the thrilling action and interviewing senior players. Esteemed guests, including Ato Tariku, shared their insights on the incredible talent displayed by these young competitors.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheers from supportive friends and family, transforming the tournament into a true celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie. After the final matches, eager young athletes shared their experiences and aspirations during interviews with media representatives.

Sunday marked the final day of the tournament, held exclusively at the Hilton Hotel. The boys and girls played with unwavering determination to determine the champions. Media outlets were present to capture the vibrant atmosphere of the event. The awards ceremony was a feast for the senses, featuring traditional dancers that delighted guests and children alike. Prizes were graciously presented by one of our dedicated supporter, the influential and prominent public figure, Artist Tadele Roba, adding a touch of glamour to the event.

The evening wrapped up with a delightful dinner where Mr. Felix Alhers, Ato Werkshet, Ato Seife and other attendees reflected on the tournament's success and pledged donations to support future events. Additionally Mr. Felix Alhers has generously pledged annual sponsorship for this event, enhancing the experience for all participants and attendees. We look forward to creating lasting memories together!

This unforgettable tournament not only showcased remarkable talent but also fostered a strong sense of community among players, families, and fans. We can’t wait for what’s next! Stay tuned for more exciting competitions ahead!

We hope this newsletter finds you well. This is our latest report on our tennis social project. Thanks to your continued support, we have been able to make this project a reality and continue to support the children. We are pleased to share with you the progress we have made over the last few months. Below you will find the most important activities and information that we would like to share with you.

1.   Recent Activities:

• Since TDKET has received a budget, it has regularly provided lunch for the children.

•  Our girls, Sara and Mekdes, traveled to Rwanda to participate in the ITF BILLIE JEAN KING CUP GAINBRIDGE AFRICA GROUP 4 from June 10-15, 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda.
• TDKET children participated in the “Addis Open Tennis Tournament” in different categories which ended on June 2, 2024 here in Addis Ababa. As a result, our children won 9 trophies

• Thanks to Tariku's efforts, an organization has agreed to donate four computers to us, which will be used for the education of our children and young people.
• Last but not least ---- volunteer students from the German School came to TDKET for two weeks in May 2024 and supported our children with tutoring.

2. Activities implemented but not shared with you:

A.   Match with the diplomats of British Embassy

The British Embassy in Ethiopia invited TDKET to take part in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an event aimed at working together to combat gender-based violence in all its forms and empower girls. TDKET accepted the invitation and took part in the tennis matches. On the day, the girls' and boys' teams from TDKET played friendly matches against the diplomats from the British Embassy

B. Our children participated in the East African junior championships

Three of our children took part in a championship that took place in Bujumbura, Burundi, in January 2024. Three of them successfully completed their competition.
